Draper Partners with Cambridge Fire Department for Toys for Tots 2022
CAMBRIDGE, MA—Draper teamed up with the Cambridge Fire Department in collecting hundreds of toys for the annual Toys for Tots toy drive. This year Draper continued a 17-year-long holiday tradition by raising over $16,000 and using it to purchase toys for the national charitable program organized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
The Cambridge Fire Department is a collection point for Toys for Tots, which celebrates its seventy-fifth anniversary in 2022. Draper matched the first $5,000 contributed with an additional donation from the Research, Development and Technical Employees’ Union for a combined amount large enough to buy 13 bins of toys.
Scott Lennox, an organizer for Draper’s toy drive, said, “Every year Draper employees show their dedication to their community through their volunteer efforts and financial donations. Toys for Tots is another great example of Draper’s commitment to serving our neighbors.”
Draper added a few new elements to this year’s fundraiser. A Toys for Tots Bake Off at the company’s Cambridge, Mass., headquarters raised $750. Draper’s regional offices in Reston, Va., and Huntsville, Ala., also joined the effort by gathering dozens of employee-donated toys and delivering them to local Toys for Tots collection sites. Draper operates eight offices in the U.S.
Cambridge Fire Chief Tom Cahill thanked Draper, and said, “The Cambridge Fire Department is truly grateful to Draper for its participation in Toys for Tots and we thank them for the support they have provided to keep our holiday program going for more than a decade."
